Description
Assemble a walking fortress and scout through a strange land full of bandits and other walking fortresses, to the edge of the world and beyond. Scavenge the enemy fortresses you defeat for new parts, and build your way from an agile little fortling into a deadly, hulking monster machine in the action tactics game "Castle Come".
History
Run forwardCastle Come was started a new prototype by Basil Sutter to explore emergent gameplay and visual techniques during the first Covid winter in Switzerland. After refocusing the gameplay in spring 2021 and nailing down the style with several keyart images and a gif, Basil started working more actively on the game. With experienced producer and designer Samuel Vonäsch joining the project through the Swiss Game Hub Mentorship program, work on the game took up to speed, and the duo founded their game studio lauflauf following this development. With the support of the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia, the two artists were able to shape their way of crafting games together and establishing strong relationships to freelancers, who are orbiting the duo and their game, helping and expanding the game with creative inputs from the outside. In spring of 2024, they are announcing Castle Come to the world.
